THE EXPENDABLES SET TO RELEASE FIFTH FULL LENGTH ALBUM “PROVE IT” ON MAY 11, 2010

Santa Cruz, CA based rock band The Expendables set to release their highly anticipated, fifth full-length album “Prove It,” produced by Paul Leary and El Hefe, and featuring 17 brand new, original tracks on May 11, 2010.
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 30, 2010)—Santa Cruz, CA based rock band The Expendables announced today that their fifth full-length album “Prove It” will be released nationwide on May 11, 2010. Produced by Butthole Surfer guitarist Paul Leary (Meat Puppets, Slightly Stoopid, Supersuckers, Sublime) and NOFX’s EL Hefe, the album features 17 brand new original tracks and has guest appearances by G. Love, as well as various members of Slightly Stoopid, to name a few.  Prove It marks the band’s second release on Slightly Stoopid’s independently owned Stoopid Records.
Of the new album the band shares, “As producers, Leary and El Hefe brought a vibe to the studio as only two punk rock guitar legends could. As musicians who really care about the music, we all connected and feel like we are bringing something new to the table, while still staying true to the sounds that make us who we are.”
Since 1997 The Expendables have staked their claim in the California inspired surf rock and reggae genre. Blending scorching 80’s arena rock style duel guitar riffs along with reggae grooves, hessian metal, and melodic punk rock has cemented the band a devoted following. In 2007 The Expendables signed with Stoopid Records, which marked a turning point in their career. They have since shared the stage with notable artists NOFX, Slightly Stoopid, Pennywise, Pepper, and more recently joining 311 on their 2009 Summer Unity amphitheatre tour. In 2010 The Expendables plan to tour nationally and internationally in support of “Prove It.”

March 25th, 2010 Mishka “Talk About” Album Review Posted

mishka-cover-82621

Mishka is about to release his newest album Talk About and that is exactly what is going to be going on with the release of this beautiful album.  Mishka has only released three albums since 1999 not including this most recent adventure “Talk About”, which will be his fourth studio album to date also not including the acoustic album that was released earlier this year.  Mishka is known for his soulful roots-reggae which encompasses socially conscious lyrics layered with seductive vocals, and hypnotic reggae grooves

Talk About is by far Mishka’s best album to date with new styles and sounds that hold both upbeat and slower tempo songs topped with positive and conscious lyrics.  Taking part in the album is Producer, Butch Walker who has recorded with notary acts such as Pete Yorn, Pink & Fall Out Boy.  Butch collaborated on two of the tracks on the album Give Them Love & Stars will be Shining to give them more of an overall grab to mainstream audiences.

March 24th, 2010 Xavier Rudd Announces New Band “Izintaba” and Releases New Album “Koonyum Sun”

Album Drops Worldwide on 4.20

LOS ANGELES, CA – Bright sunny skies, white sand beaches and rolling turquoise waves is where Xavier Rudd recorded his new musical work, and the setting couldn’t have been better for this next selection of songs. Back in 301 Studios in Byron Bay, Australia, Xavier completed his latest album, “Koonyum Sun,” and his first recording with a South African rhythm section comprised of Tio Moloantoa on Bass and Andile Nqubezelo, formerly of the late Lucky Dube’s band, on drums.

Xavier, Tio and Andile formed a bond in the summer of 2008 at Austria’s Nuke festival that extended beyond a fundamental musical respect for each other. Their relationship—like their musical tastes—reflects a passion for unifying culture, sound and understanding. Moving away from the heavier-edged sound pursued on 2008’s “Dark Shades of Blue,” Xavier is back to his up-beat, hip-swaying sound—a mainstay on previous recordings—and is now backed by the tour de force of Tio and Andile under the new group “Xavier Rudd and Izintaba.”

Charleston City Paper experienced the new lineup live this past summer, raving “With a powerful presence center stage, bassist Tio Molontoa cranked out some funky bass with a background of the aboriginal flag, while drummer Andile Nqubezelo, stage right, demolished the drums…From beginning to end Rudd’s performance had fans in a frenzy bobbing around to a fusion of Aboriginal Funk.”

Xavier Rudd and Izintaba are looking forward to releasing “Koonyum Sun,” an album that they are extremely passionate about and proud of from beginning to end.

Also look for Xavier Rudd and Izintaba to be hitting the United States this fall for a major city national tour.

Expect an album review from us soon! We are very excited for Rudd’s new adventure and from what we have heard so far brings tears of joy to our eyes.
